Hessel Studios is a company deeply rooted in the art of coppersmithing, where we celebrate the rich tapestry of historical metalworking traditions. Our primary focus lies in the creation of exquisite candle holders, lamps, and vases, each a testament to the enduring allure of copper craftsmanship.  Beyond our craft, we take pride in the careful restoration of antique lamps, vases, mirrors, candleholders, and various home hardware, rekindling the splendor of bygone eras.

Raised in a household infused with boundless creativity, my artistic journey began under the tutelage of my father, an accomplished craftsman skilled in furniture making, and my mother, a devoted collector of 19th-century handmade crafts with a deep passion for craft history. These formative years immersed me in a world of artistry and craftsmanship, fostering a profound love for the art of creation.

As I delved into various artistic disciplines and crafts, my path led me to a profound and enduring passion for coppersmithing. In a world where this centuries-old craft is practiced by only a select few, I embarked on a personal odyssey to master the intricacies of working with copper, even creating my own specialized tools along the way.

It is both an honor and a privilege for me to carry on the timeless tradition of coppersmithing, an art form that thrived during the heyday of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the early 1900s. This movement left an indelible mark on the San Francisco Bay Area, where I proudly call home. Through the creation and preservation of exquisite copper pieces, I see myself as a custodian of this rich artistic heritage, contributing to its enduring legacy in the heart of California.
