Carpentry

Conor Ward
(415) 710-7891

Born and raised in San Francisco, Conor Ward has always had deep admiration for and interest in the Bay Area’s vernacular arts and crafts traditions. After graduating from Tufts University in 2017 with  degrees in fine art and engineering, Conor moved back home and began working as a carpenter in the high-end residential construction industry. On one jobsite he was fortunate enough to become friends with wallpaper hanger Heidi Wright Mead, a distinguished member of the Artistic License guild. Heidi invited him to attend a guild meeting and the rest is history. Conor aspires to become a master craftsman and has begun working full-time for guild member Christopher L. Yerke of Restoration Workshop, a master woodworker.

Conor has also begun learning how to restore lincrusta (a type of deeply embossed wallcovering) from long-time guild member Phil Diers, and hopes to help maintain these important traditions for generations to come.
