Cerrito Theater, El Cerrito, CA. This 1930s Art Deco neighborhood theater was renovated into a modern two-screen movie and pizza pub facility. Upgrades were made to meet current seismic and accessibility codes. The exterior facade had no original historic material but was restored with an old photo. The building’s historic interiors were intact and original Art Deco etched glass, murals, chandeliers, and doors were restored while new elements were designed in keeping with the Art Deco era.
