Beyond the Bungalow

Living Room in a Craftsman style Bungalow (c1910) in Berkeley, CA. With its original characteristic features intact (including the stained fir woodwork, large matte-glazed fireplace tile, box beam ceiling, and built-in window seat and bookcase), this room had good bones, yet it lacked warmth. It took a bold new color scheme, created with some Arts and Crafts period style wallpapers (Bradbury & Bradbury) and textiles (by Dianne Ayres), along with an infusion of furnishings and collectibles of the period to bring it to life again (photo from Inside the Bungalow.)
